The Department of Medical Neuroscience in the Faculty of Medicine at Dalhousie University invites applications to fill a full-time career stream Anatomy Instructor position at the Cape Breton Medical Campus, in Sydney, Nova Scotia.

The Anatomy Instructor will deliver the anatomy components of the undergraduate medical curriculum, including gross anatomy, neuroanatomy, and histology, at the Cape Breton Medical Campus. The Anatomy Instructor will provide supplemental sessions and scheduled office hours for medical students and will support Research in Medicine (RIM) program. Additional responsibilities will include course administration duties and continued development of anatomy programs for medical students.

The Anatomy Instructor will be responsible for the daily operations of CBMC anatomy lab facilities including directing and overseeing the activities of a laboratory technician.
The Instructor will work closely with, and be supported by, other anatomy faculty in the Department of Medical Neuroscience, at Halifax, NS, and Saint John, NB, campuses. As a member of the Department, the Anatomy Instructor may be assigned additional responsibilities by the Department Head.

Applicants must hold an MSc or PhD in anatomical sciences (or related field) or an MD (or equivalent). The successful candidate must demonstrate academic competence in human gross anatomy and neuroanatomy. Experience teaching histology and/or embryology, will be considered an asset. A commitment to excellence in teaching is required as this is the primary responsibility of the position. Experience with the proper care, handling, and use of human cadaveric material is essential.

The position will begin on June 1, 2025. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
