Enjoy a high standard of living with low housing costs and short commutes when you live and work as a *Anesthesiologist – Locum* in Saskatchewan, the sunniest province in Canada.Job DescriptionWe are seeking five team-orientated and highly skilled Anesthesiologists to provide locum services in Regina, Saskatchewan. This position has the potential to transition into a permanent full-time role.The Department of Anesthesiology has an excellent complement of specialist Anesthesiologists with diverse interests. The successful candidates will join our team to provide comprehensive anesthesiology service to the patients of southern Saskatchewan.Our services are shared between two sites. The Regina General Hospital is our trauma center representing all major surgical specialties, except transplant. Our Anesthesiologists provide full obstetric service. The Pasqua Hospital is a community hospital and referral center specializing in Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Plastic Surgery, General Surgery, Urology and Pediatric Oncology.Elective OR runs from 07:45 to 16:00hrs. Capacity is managed to allow for reduced OR theatres during holiday periods, allowing physicians and staff greater vacation opportunities. Call is 1:5 to 1:6 depending on holiday requests.The University of Saskatchewan is a research-intensive institution with 22,000 students and 7,000 faculty and staff, and a strong reputation for innovation and excellence. The College of Medicine has an intake of 100 students per year with a commensurate number of positions for residency training. The has distributed training sites in Saskatoon and Regina.The (SHA) is the largest organization in Saskatchewan, employing over 44,000 employees and physicians responsible for the delivery of high quality and timely health care for the entire province. We are driven by the commitment to improve front line patient care for Saskatchewan people, and we are working together to better coordinate health services across the province to ensure that patients receive high quality, timely health care, wherever they live in Saskatchewan.Job QualificationsSuccessful candidates will be a Fellow (or be eligible for Fellowship) with the in Anesthesiology. Candidates should be eligible for licensure with the .Candidates should be team players, be able to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, staff and management, and function well in a high volume environment with a commitment to provision of high quality patient and family centered care.All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; in accordance with immigration requirements, preference will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada.The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) requires a criminal record check (CRC) from every potential SHA team member. The CRC must be dated within the past six (6) months and be satisfactory to the SHA.
