Job description

• Construct staging or scaffolding for heavy metalworking jobs.

• Examine products for proper shapes, dimensions, and other specifications.

• Machines and equipment should be cleaned and lubricated.

• Metal stock can be cut, bent, rolled, reammed, punched, drilled, weld, or otherwise shaped and formed into parts or products.

• Install, run, and maintain one or more light or heavy metalworking machines.

• Use machines or equipment to join metal parts by welding, soldering, bolting, screwing, or riveting.

• Use presses or other forging machines to shape or form metal by hot or cold forging.

• Place heated or cooled metal pieces on a press die or other forging machinery.

• Read and interpret specifications, or listen to and follow verbal instructions.

• Remove metal pieces from the furnace when the color or metal indicates that the forging temperature is correct.
