Arboricultural Consultant/Ecologist

As a continually growing practice, we have an exciting opportunity to support the development of our business. We pride ourselves on delivering a responsive and adaptable service to clients, providing high quality, pragmatic, solutions and outcomes. To support these objectives we are looking for someone with an arboricultural or ecological background or experience, who has, or wants to further develop skills and knowledge and in a dual focussed role.

The primary focus is to provide leadership, direction and technical expertise to further develop the arboriculture area of our practice The role will include a mix of office- and site-based work and offers the opportunity to retain or further develop technical skills and qualifications in both arboriculture and ecology.

Key tasks

  • Tree surveys and inspections, to BS5837
  • Arboricultural Impact Assessments (AIA)
  • Arboricultural Method Statements (AMS).
  • Tree health, condition and safety assessments
  • Tree inventories
  • Liaison with colleagues, clients, and local planning authorities

Key Skills

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline
  • Knowledge of the planning process and its relevance to trees and development
  • High level of competence in Word and Excel.
  • Ability to remain calm and focussed whilst adapting to program changes

The ideal person will be self-motivated, keen to learn and develop and be able to evidence problem solving and able to work on their own initiative. You should be adaptable and flexible in your approach to task management and able to reprioritise according to commercial/operational requirements. An excellent sense of humour and ‘can do’ approach are also essential.

Our normal working hours are Monday to Friday 08:30 to 17:30
