Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Liaison Librarian
The University of Manitoba Libraries seeks four (4) effective, highly-motivated people for the position of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Liaison Librarian at a General or Assistant Librarian rank to begin January 1, 2025, or as soon as possible thereafter. These positions normally have a two-year probationary period, and the salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
• A Master’s degree in library and/or information studies from an ALA-accredited or equivalent institution;
• Demonstrated experience providing reference and research services in a library;
• Demonstrated experience in the areas of teaching and instruction support;
• Knowledge and understanding of best practices, current issues, and trends in academic libraries;
• Demonstrated ability to manage a complex workload in a timely and effective manner;
• Effective oral and written communication skills;
• Demonstrated teamwork, collaborative, and interpersonal skills.
Candidates with the following additional qualifications will be preferred:
• Post-secondary degree in the humanities, social sciences, or relevant field;
• Experience in an arts, humanities, social sciences or similar library;
• A minimum of two years professional experience in an academic library;
• Experience with the development and management of library collections.
