Job description

We are looking for an Artworker to join our busy Academic and Professional Division, which publishes across a range of subjects including Philosophy, Education, Theology, Linguistics, History, Law, Drama, Film and Media, and Fashion.This would be an excellent job for someone with artworking skills, keen to enter the book publishing industry within the design environment.The role

  • correct and convert existing cover files and generate final cover artwork (using Adobe CS) for reprints, eBooks and our print-on-demand programme
  • liaise with editorial and production colleagues, and external suppliers on cover updates, proofs, and schedules
  • ensure company systems are kept up-to-date with cover data, files and status
  • assist the designers with artworking tasks on new titles

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • proven technical expertise (InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat)
  • excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • the ability to process a large volume of work quickly and accurately
  • a keen eye for detail

Additional informationThe role is a full-time permanent positionSalary Pay Point: £27,000 per annumThe role is based at our London office 50 Bedford Square, London, WC1B 3DP on a hybrid working pattern of 2 days office based / 3 days home based (or fully office based if preferred). Allocated office days for this role are: Wednesdays and ThursdaysAs an entry level role, this position is eligible for Bloomsbury’s Rental Deposit Loan Scheme. To assist candidates who want to start and to establish a career in publishing, Bloomsbury offers an interest-free rental deposit to support securing somewhere to live.
