The Division of Pediatric Surgery of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) and the Keck School of Medicine (KSOM) of the University of Southern California (USC) are actively seeking an outstanding pediatric surgeon with a deep interest in critical care and the management of trauma for a full-time faculty member position as the Trauma Program Director. This position is open to applicants who are focused on Critical Care, Trauma Medicine, and Disaster Management.  We are seeking fellowship-trained applicants in pediatric surgery and surgical critical care who are board-eligible or board-certified in both Surgical Critical Care and Pediatric Surgery.  The position will include a faculty rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, commensurate with level of experience.

Children’s Hospital Los Angeles serves as the only Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center in the Greater Los Angeles region. We treat severely injured patients and have developed resources to compassionately care for a wide range of traumatic injury, from prevention through rehabilitation. CHLA is a dynamic and collaborative research environment, and the Trauma Program has opportunities for impact and growth locally, nationally, and internationally.

Opportunity Highlights

• Join a high-functioning clinical team of 13 surgeons with the opportunity to take care of complex patients.
• Lead a growing trauma program with strong support from the division, hospital, and multiple services and divisions including injury prevention, emergency medicine, orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, plastic surgery, ophthalmology, ENT, CARF accredited Acute Rehab Unit, hospitalists, critical care, etc.
• Experience a commitment to career development with outstanding opportunities for scholarly activity and education, including working with top pediatric surgery fellows.
• Practice at a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center.
