Login to your McGill Workday account and apply to this posting using the Find Jobs report (type Find Jobs in the search bar).Position DescriptionThe McGill University Department of Diagnostic Radiology and the Department of Radiology at the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) are seeking a Nuclear Medicine specialist trained in Nuclear medicine, including Theranostic, Nuclear Cardiology, and Pediatric Nuclear medicine for a full-time position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor (Clinical) to join the Division of Nuclear Medicine. The professorial rank will be determined according to the candidate’s qualifications and experience. This will be a Contract Academic Staff position and does not confer eligibility for tenure.The Department of Diagnostic Radiology at McGill University is one of the oldest departments in North America. We are proud of our longstanding foundation of excellence in both clinical and educational activities. Our Residency Program is robust and recognized nationally and internationally. Our Fellowship Program is also very successful and attracts trainees from all over the world.The MUHC’s Division of Nuclear Medicine houses four 2 PET/CT scanners—one of those is a state of the art digital PET system, 5 SPECT/CT, 1 CZT SPECT/CT, 1 dedicated cardiac CZR SPECT, and 1 BMD machine. The Division also has in-vitro lab equipment with Beta counter for urease breath test and Gamma counter for GFR and other in-vitro tests. It houses approximately 800 beds and performs more than 500,000 radiologic/Nuclear medicine procedures per year, including PET/CT, general nuclear medicine, nuclear cardiology, pediatric Nuclear medicine, MRI, diagnostic CT, interventional radiology, etc.The MUHC is a major teaching hospital affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Canada’s internationally renowned McGill University, located in the vibrant and multicultural city of Montreal, in the province of Quebec.Job DutiesThe successful candidate will join a dynamic group of sub-specialists in the Division of Nuclear Medicine which is comprised of five members who are fellowship trained in Nuclear Medicine. The incumbent’s responsibilities will include practicing at all sites within the MUHC network of hospitals.The successful candidate will also be responsible for clinical activities, teaching, and research activities in diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Medicine. Due to the heavy volume of highly complex cases, the candidate is expected to be self-sufficient and independent.The successful candidate will be expected to be actively involved in all aspects of McGill’s academic mission (i.e., research, teaching, supervision of students and residents, and involvement in academic and administrative committees).McGill faculty members are expected to contribute to service activities within their units, the University, and the wider scholarly community. A demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion is also expected.Qualifications and Education RequirementsCandidates must:Hold a medical degree and must hold, or be eligible for, licensure in the province of Quebec;Have completed subspecialty training in Nuclear Medicine and hold certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (or equivalent);Have completed at least 2 years of post-residency fellowship training in Nuclear medicine fields focused on Nuclear Cardiology, Theranostics and pediatric Nuclear Medicine;Have a demonstrable commitment and interest in teaching, clinical research and publication, and innovation;Significant academic experience would be considered an asset;Additional experience organizing and administering multidisciplinary rounds would also be considered an asset;Bilingual language skills (French and English) are preferred, or a commitment to acquire the necessary skills to practice medicine in Quebec.
