The appointment will either be made at FA7 or FA8 of the University of Warwick salary scale; this will be based on experience and the candidate’s ability to meet the appropriate person specification. Candidates are asked to specify the level they wish to be considered for.We are particularly interested in receiving applications from scholars with specialist knowledge and expertise in the use of quantitative methods to address issues in politics and/or international studies. The positions are open with respect to subject matter. We have existing quantitative expertise in comparative politics, conflict studies, environmental politics, political sociology, democratisation, forecasting, as well as methods in political science. Those with expertise in these or other areas of Politics or International Studies are welcome to apply. We particularly welcome applications from scholars with a research focus on states or regions of the Global South.About YouThe successful candidate will have an international reputation [or for an Assistant Prof appointment, be building an international reputation] and will deliver world-leading research publications in distinguished journals and presses. You will be expected to develop high-quality bids for external research funding and demonstrate a commitment to achieving non-academic impact.In addition, the post-holder will be expected to design and teach undergraduate and postgraduate modules, including modules analysing quantitative data with R, such as Introduction to Quantitative Political Analysis, Causal Inference in Quantitative Analysis, and Advanced Quantitative Analysis. You will also have the opportunity to help shape our curriculum in quantitative political science and to develop your own modules. Additionally, you will support the supervision of dissertations at UG and PGT levels.You will have a track record of and/or lived experience of addressing Equality, Diversity and Inclusion issues in the workplace, as well as a commitment to decolonising the curriculum and teaching practices.
