The Department wishes to appoint an Assistant Professor (Grade 9) or Associate Professor (Grade 10) in Veterinary Education and Pathology, with effect from 1 September 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter.The purpose of the role is to provide to provide academic leadership as champion of the delivery and assessment of clinical skills and veterinary pathology. The Pauline Brown Clinical Skills Centre delivers structured practical skills teaching and learning opportunities through simulations and with live animals, and assesses these practical skills by means of Observed Subjective Clinical Examinations (OSCEs) and engages in writing/selecting Directly Observed Procedural Skills (DOPS). You will be a key member of the Clinical Skills team of four, comprising this role and three permanent professional services roles, who engage with large and small animal clinical skills teaching.You will be expected to achieve (as part of your professional development) a national and international profile in veterinary education and research, clinical excellence, and to contribute to the diagnostic pathology service. You will be active in research and scholarship within the area of your pathological/clinical interest and/or within the pedagogical field.You must be MRCVS; hold a Diploma of the European/American College of Veterinary Pathologists; hold further qualifications in teaching (in progress or completed).
