We promote integrated translation and discovery science via the development of interdisciplinary teams with access to state-of-the-art facilities.While we will consider applicants with relevant academic experience in any area of mental health, we will look favourably on candidates with expertise related to the following priority areas:Mood disorders, broadly defined, and/or expertise in experimental medicine studies, trials, data science and biological treatment of these conditions.Were you to join us you would be a member of our Institute for Mental Health (IMH) where we focus on improving outcomes and care for people with mental health problems. We determine causes of poor mental health, prevent mental health problems from developing, and develop new treatments and services for established illness. We are a vibrant community of over 40 academic staff, and 80+ researchers and PhD students. We have dedicated space funded by the Wolfson Foundation and we pursue interdisciplinary research working across our institution and with other researchers and research centres in the School of Psychology.Role SummaryThe role holder will be based in Edgbaston. The key duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to: giving lectures and seminars and supervising undergraduate / post-graduate students, course development and innovation, taking an active part in examinations, carrying out innovative research and writing papers on topics relevant to the specialist subject area (this will include journals, books and other material), and obtaining research grant funding.The successful applicant will have a PhD in a relevant specialist subject area, as well as postdoctoral experience. We are looking for candidates who will actively contribute to our portfolio and community, through pursuit of research that will bring new opportunities, synergies, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
