The candidate should have a demonstrated track-record of research excellence and a strong commitment to teaching undergraduate, graduate, and medical students.We are particularly interested in creative candidates with established research interests in the fields of toxicology and pharmacology in any disease context. Applicants with track records and future interests in safety pharmacology, molecular and/or environmental toxicology, or systems biology approaches are particularly encouraged to apply.The successful candidate will become a member of the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics. The Department is a research-intensive unit committed to excellence in training of undergraduate and graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows. Members of the Department are leaders in molecular pharmacology and toxicology, drug design and development, and drug-environment interactions. The nine units within the School bring together internationally renowned researchers in all areas of biomedical research and provide a stimulating, collaborative research environment with top-notch, multidisciplinary training programs and access to state of the art core platforms.Job DutiesThe successful applicant will be expected to: establish and grow an externally-funded innovative research program that complements and integrates with existing strengths within the Department; train graduate students and postdoctoral fellows; contribute to undergraduate, graduate, and medical teaching within the Department and possibly more broadly across the School. McGill faculty members are also expected to contribute to service activities within their units, the University, and the wider scholarly community. A commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion is also expected.Qualifications and Education RequirementsApplicants must:hold a Ph.D. degree (or equivalent qualification) with postdoctoral research training and a strong background in toxicology/pharmacology/drug development;have a demonstrated capacity to contribute to building a research team and research program;have a proven track record of research productivity with evidence of scholarly excellence;demonstrate a commitment to, and evidence of, high-quality teaching and inclusive pedagogy;Fluency in English is essential; a working knowledge of French, or a commitment to acquiring it within few years of appointment is preferred;A history and spirit of collaboration is an asset.Faculty/Department/Unit: Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, School of Biomedical Sciences, Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics
