The successful candidate will be based at the Montreal Children’s Hospital (MCH) of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC). This position is a contract faculty position and does not confer tenure eligibility. The rank will be determined based according to the chosen candidate’s qualifications and experience.The Department of Pediatrics is a leader in academic medicine, and our educational and research missions support excellent and innovative clinical programs across our teaching hospitals. The Montreal Children’s Hospital (MCH) of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) is one of McGill’s major teaching hospitals affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Canada’s internationally renowned McGill University, located in the vibrant and multicultural city of Montreal, in the province of Quebec. All pediatric medical and surgical subspecialties are represented at the MCH. The Division of General Pediatrics currently has 40 members working in diverse areas, including: Developmental pediatrics, Inpatient pediatrics, Newborn medicine, Complex care, Medical day hospital, Northern and Indigenous child health, and others.In addition to full-service tertiary care, the Division’s members have proven academic strengths in multiple fields such as medical education, epidemiology, health services and quality improvement research, and knowledge translation research.The Developmental Pediatrics program is part of the integrated Brain, Development, and Behaviour network; this growing multidisciplinary team includes specialized programs in early developmental impairment, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, specific learning disorders, gender variance, and fetal alcohol spectrum disorders.Job Duties:The successful candidate will be expected to contribute as a full member of the Division of General Pediatrics, with an expert focus on Developmental Pediatric care. They will have a principal role in the Developmental Pediatrics Program and will be an active physician member of the Division of General Pediatrics at the Montreal Children’s Hospital, MUHC.As part of the academic mission within our Department, the successful candidate will provide excellent clinical teaching and supervision to undergraduate medical students, residents and fellows. The Developmental Pediatrics program is an active teaching site with a Royal College certified Fellowship program. In addition, members are also expected to contribute to academic rounds and administrative committees, as well as being involved in a variety of teaching, research and advocacy efforts within the hospital setting and beyond.The career profile of the successful candidate includes the following:1) Clinical Work (0.75 FTE): The focus of clinical work will be in Developmental Pediatrics with additional opportunities in the Division of General Pediatrics; and,2) Research/Academic (0.25 FTE): Participation in departmental and divisional academic activities such as research, teaching, quality improvement, and program development is required.McGill faculty members are expected to contribute to service activities within their units, the University and the wider scholarly community.
