- Assistant Professor (G8) £47,321 to £54,827, progressing to £58,155 once in post.
- Associate Professor (G9) £56,467 to £69,404, progressing to £75,833 once in post

The appointee will help develop our UK undergraduate degree apprenticeship programmes in the area of Accounting and Finance and provide general service to the University within and across faculties. In the first instance, the successful candidate will be expected to lead the development and delivery of the university’s online BSc (Hons) Applied Accounting and Finance degree apprenticeship (Level 6 Accounting Finance Manager).We wish to appoint a specialist in Accounting and Finance. Preference may be given to candidates with experience of English apprenticeships, working with professional bodies, e.g., Institute of Financial Accountants, ACCA and CIMA, and active interests in the relationship of digital transformation and change management.Core duties will include the development and teaching of cutting-edge courses in Accounting and Finance both online and on campus, assessment and moderation, student support, peer review, etc.We particularly encourage applications from those with an interest in innovative teaching, learning and assessment; those with experience of supporting a wide variety of students; and those belonging to groups underrepresented in UK higher education. We are open to appointing on a reduced fraction/job-share basis subject to our business needs.The role is suitable for hybrid working, provided the appointee is able to attend the campus (Devon House, London) for face-to-face work as and when required.Discipline/ FacultyThe appointee will work in a multidisciplinary, cross-faculty team responsible for the degree apprenticeship programmes that span the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Faculty of Computing, Mathematics, Engineering and Natural Sciences.The cross-faculty degree apprenticeship team uses innovative pedagogical approaches and best practices in digital education and collaboration to ensure an excellent learner experience for individuals or groups of learners, wherever they are based. - PhD completed, or near completion (all but dissertation), or equivalent professional experience, in a relevant area.
- FHEA status, or equivalent, achieved or expected (desirable)
- General Criteria
- Demonstrates, through evidence, excellent ability to be adaptable, innovative, and inclusive in teaching, and service.
- Ability to develop excellent educational provision in areas with significant appeal to students, including at postgraduate level.
- Willingness and capacity to undertake continuous professional development in relation to institutionally strategic themes, including but not limited to, technology, data, sustainability, and ethics.
- Flexibility and capacity to teach across a wide range of courses, with interdisciplinary team members when appropriate.
- Teaching competency in Accounting and Finance to at least Level 6
- Excellent ability to design and deliver courses on degree apprenticeship programmes.
- Excellent ability to work with professional bodies, e.g. Institute of Financial Accountants, ACCA and CIMA.
Associate Professor:Qualifications:
- PhD completed, or equivalent professional experience, in a relevant area.

- Willingness and capacity to undertake academic leadership tasks, including line management and leadership of strategic projects, as well as continuous professional development for such purposes.
- Flexibility and capacity to teach across a wide range of courses, with interdisciplinary team members when appropriate.
- Teaching competency in Accounting and Finance to Levels 4-7 (undergraduate and postgraduate).
- Excellent ability to design, lead and deliver degree apprenticeship programmes.
- Excellent ability to work with professional bodies, e.g. Institute of Financial Accountants, ACCA and CIMA.
