The appointee will be teaching undergraduate students and provide leadership to the discipline of Physics & Engineering in line with the evolving needs and aspirations of the Faculty and University. Appointments will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, reflecting a record of demonstrated teaching and service excellence.We are especially interested in candidates with academic management experience and will prioritise applicants who meet the criteria to be appointed Head of Discipline. The purpose of the role of Head of Discipline is to provide overall operational management and to take overall responsibility for the delivery of all programmes within the subject disciplines. Further details are available on request or at the interview stage.We are seeking exceptional educators whose teaching contributes to fundamental undergraduate courses in Physics & Engineering. Core duties include development, provision and management of innovative and inclusive teaching in these areas at undergraduate level; working with faculty and students on projects in the University’s dedicated maker space; and professional service commensurate to career stage. The first-year engineering program is striving to deliver courses (namely, Cornerstones of Engineering I & II, and Physics for Science and Engineering I & II) that inspire and equip entering students to be outstanding engineers and ready for future classes and Northeastern University’s co-op program.Candidates will be considered across all areas of Engineering. Opportunities for disciplinary and interdisciplinary teaching and scholarship abound: the Faculty’s grounding in humanics brings together computing, engineering and natural sciences with humanities based on ground-breaking research and research-oriented teaching practices.
