Assistant or Associate Professor of Stem Cell and Regenerative Biology

The Columbia Stem Cell Initiative (CSCI) at Columbia University in the City of New York is seeking
candidates for a tenure track Assistant or Associate Professor position in the Vagelos College of Physicians
& Surgeons (VP&S) of Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) and Columbia University
(CU). Applicants must have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in
research. The faculty appointment will involve affiliation to appropriate basic and/or clinical Department(s).

Applicants should have demonstrated experience in one or more fields of stem cell biology, reprogramming,
tissue engineering, regenerative biology, and disease modeling, and are expected to apply innovative
approaches to address fundamental or translational biological questions relevant to the interests and goals
of CSCI. We are particularly interested to expand on research areas related to modeling of human traits,
stem cell therapy, and aging biology. Successful candidates will have a laboratory in the newly renovated
CSCI space at CUIMC. They will be expected to develop a nationally and internationally recognized
extramurally funded research program and be committed to the graduate education and outreach missions
of CSCI, the recruiting department(s), and Columbia University.

CSCI investigators span the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and the Schools of Medicine and
Engineering and hold membership to other Institutes and Centers such as the Herbert Irving Comprehensive
Cancer Center, Motor Neuron Center, Naomi Berrie Diabetes Center, and Institute of Human Nutrition.
CSCI fosters interdisciplinary stem cell research with the goals of understanding developmental and
regenerative processes, modeling and studying human diseases and the aging process, and developing cell
and tissue-based diagnostics and therapeutics. More information about CSCI can be found at

Candidates will be pre-screened by Zoom in January and should make sure that if selected they will be
available to attend a two-day CSCI Recruitment Symposium organized in February. Dates and details will
be provided to the selected candidates.
