This full-time appointment will be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto with a position description as a Clinician Scientist at the rank of Assistant Professor. It is expected that the position will be approximately 25% clinical and 75% related to research for a Clinician Scientist. Expected start date is July 1, 2025, or another mutually agreeable date thereafter.We are seeking a physician who will foster excellence in academic general internal medicine. UHN has established a strategic direction that includes harnessing technology to revolutionize care, specifically to “integrate AI and digital tools to enhance the precision, speed and personalization of treatment, from diagnosis to recovery”. With this in mind, our division is looking to recruit a Clinician Scientist at UHN with a specific interest in AI and Medicine, and who will perform research with the goal of advancing this strategy. Research excellence will be assessed by the presence of research grants, publications in leading journals, invited presentations at conferences, awards, and other related accomplishments.The successful candidate will join the Division of General Internal Medicine & Geriatrics. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in general internal medicine clinical activities in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. They will also be expected to participate in the educational and relevant administrative activities of the Division.The successful candidate must hold an MD degree and a PhD degree and must have or be eligible for certification in Internal Medicine by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada; and have or be eligible for medical licensure in Ontario. The successful applicant must demonstrate specialization and accomplishments in research.Academic rank, salary and contractual arrangements will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the successful candidates. Compensation will be within the usual income range for an academic hospitalist in the Province of Ontario (estimated range is $300,000-$350,000 per year), achieved through a combination of fee for service and stipends for weekly work and call shifts.Applications will be accepted until March 7, 2025, or until the positions are filled.
