Research, creation, and innovation thrive in TRU’s open, flexible learning environment.The TRU School of Education invites interested individuals to apply for a full-time tripartite tenure track position at the rank of Full Professor, Associate Professor, or Assistant Professor. We are looking for education scholars specializing in one or more areas within our Graduate Programs in Education including K-12 Educational Leadership, K-12 Counselling, or Curriculum, Teaching and Learning with a focus on K-12 educational environments. Strong candidates will have teaching experience in both K-12 and post-secondary settings.We are a faculty embracing of diversity, an essential element of the fabric of Canada. In the School of Education, our on-campus student body is more than 10% Indigenous and 50% international.Strong candidates will have an active research agenda with publications of relevance to their field and to K-12 education. Teaching and service experiences that are relevant to teaching courses at the graduate level in relation to our Graduate Certificate in Education and Master of Education programs are important. When these teaching experiences are informed by experiences in K-12 and higher education we pay close attention! Research needs to be active and show potential for or evidence of an ongoing research agenda, as appropriate for the position sought. Teaching is enthusiastically embraced.   • A PhD, EdD or equivalent in a relevant field is required. All but dissertation (ABD) at time of application will be considered, however PhD/EdD must be completed at the time of appointment.
  • A minimum of one (1) degree in an area of Education is required.
  • Three (3) years of full time or equivalent hours teaching in K-12 settings is required.
  • Evidence of successful post-secondary face-to-face teaching experience is strongly preferred.
  • A demonstrated record of scholarship including a record of peer-reviewed and other publications in education and in one or more of the fields identified is required; publication will be commensurate with the appointment sought (assistant, associate or full professor) is required.
  • Proven experience in programs and practices that support diversity, inclusion, and intercultural understanding between local, regional, and global communities is strongly preferred.
  • If a Leadership applicant, experience leading as a school vice-principal or principal is required.
  • If a Counselling applicant, experience as a K-12 school counsellor is required.
  • If a Curriculum, Teaching and Learning applicant, experience leading curriculum in a K-12 setting is required.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in integrating Indigenous knowledge and teaching methods (TRC CA 62) is required.
  • Proven skills in building student capacity for intercultural understanding, empathy, and mutual respect (TRC CA 63) is required.
  • Teaching excellence, including developing culturally appropriate curricula (TRC CA 10) is required.
