Candidates must have a doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a closely related field, with a first degree in Civil Engineering. Evidence of outstanding research achievements, or research potential, is essential. We are particularly interested in candidates with a doctoral degree in geotechnical engineering, who have demonstrated research and teaching expertise in one or more of the following areas: novel methods in geomechanics, physical modeling in geotechnics, energy-related geotechnics, unsaturated soil mechanics, soil dynamics, and soil-structure interaction. A strong background in experimental and numerical methods is required. Experience in experimental geomechanics and geotechnical engineering for cold regions will be considered an asset, along with the capability to teach advanced courses in numerical modeling in geomechanics, unsaturated soil mechanics, and soil dynamics.Faculty/Department/Unit:Faculty of EngineeringDepartment of Civil EngineeringJob Type:
