The new faculty member will have a background that will allow them to successfully develop a dynamic and collaborative research program that includes a focus on health science communication with the general public and policy makers, as well on the prevalence and the combatting of medical misinformation. The incumbent will explore such research areas as healthcare disparities, social media as a tool for both science communication and health disruption, health, and wellness issues for underrepresented or underserved populations or the intersections of health and social justice concerns, including racial and environmental health disparities, all through the lens of health science communication.The University of Ottawa is recognized nationally and internationally as one of the best universities in the country and the largest bilingual university (French and English) in the world.
