Assistant Professor in History of British Architecture in its Global Contexts 1660

The Department of History of Art at Cambridge University seeks to appoint a permanent Assistant Professor in the History of British Architecture in its Global Contexts 1660-1900. This specialism should be understood to extend not only to the traditions of Architecture in the United Kingdom, but also in the Commonwealth nations. The postholder will contribute to diversifying the curriculum in teaching and research on the imperial/post-imperial contexts of British Architecture. The successful candidate will be expected to take up appointment on 1 September 2025.We are seeking an individual who has a record of, or clear potential for, high level research, with publications commensurate with their career. Candidates will have the ability or potential to undertake collaborative research and to secure external research and funding. Candidates will hold undergraduate and doctoral degrees in the history of art and architecture, or a related discipline, with FHEA accreditation and curriculum development as desirable.The post holder will teach across the programmes and courses in the Department. The specialism listed will form an integral part of the core curriculum in the History of Art Tripos, with papers drawing on Cambridge’s built environment from the medieval through modern eras.In order for applications to be considered applicants must upload:
