FacultyThis post of Assistant Professor in Paramedic Science (Grade 8/9 dependent on experience) in the School of Allied Health Professions and Midwifery, offers an opportunity to lead and innovate curriculum, learning, teaching and assessment approaches across our current and future undergraduate programme. Working in line with University ambitions, the school is committed to providing an excellent experience, whilst continuing to raise our research and innovation reputation. The school’s focus is on preparing future paramedics, working with and for the population of Bradford, West Yorkshire and beyond.What you will be doing:The post holder will
- Work with academics across the school to inform, innovate and promote excellence in curriculum design, development and implementation.
- Lead the design and development of inclusive, accessible, research-informed teaching and learning activities which provide a distinctive and exceptional student experience, as part of a programme team.
- Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring for colleagues including those in their probation and transitioning to new roles.
- Have the opportunity to contribute to the Faculty’s Research Centre’s and University reputation and impact to ensure a vibrant research environment.
- Contribute to the working life of the Faculty, University and wider academic community including, graduation, open days, applicant experience days, clearing and the staff recruitment and selection process.
Qualifications/ experience:
- A Registered Paramedic with a current HCPC registration.
- First degree and Master level qualification in a relevant area.
- Experience of university academic leadership in teaching, learning & assessment at module or programme leader level.
- Ability to lead, inspire and performance manage others.
- Experience of implementing approaches to assessment that inspire and engage students, promote learning and enhance self-regulation.
- Experience of managing student or staff welfare issues, (including personal tutoring/ staff mentoring).
