Kozminski University is looking for candiates to fill in the position of

Assistant Professor in the Department of Economic Psychology

Ref: 7/NAUKA/KPE/23

 

These positions include the following duties:

• conducting research in the Department’s discipline and publishing in journals with an assigned impact factor,
• research cooperation with other employees of the Department aimed at publishing in high-profile journals,
• teaching a limited number of classes, in accordance to the position and teaching load assigned to the position, mostly in Polish but occasionally teaching in English also posible posible,
• supervision of students’ thesis projects, thesis reviews
• performing administrative tasks as defined by the Head of the Department.

 

Requirements for the candidate:

• completed master’s studies in psychology/ psycholinguistics/ cognitive science or similar
• PhD in Social Sciences/Humanities/Medical Sciences/Health Sciences (or equivalent for academic degrees obtained abroad),
• PhD in the discipline of psychology is welcome
• habilitated doctor degree would be an additional advantage,
• knowledge of English at least at the C1 level, as defined in the European System for the Description of Languages,
• will be an advantage knowledge of English at the C2 level allowing to teach classes in English,
• knowledge of the Polish language at least at the C1 level,
• ability to carry out empirical research supported by a list of empirical papers published in international scientific journals (at least 2 publications in journals with the IF assigned in the last 5 years),
• indication of ongoing and planned projects/publications,
• conducting research at the international level is welcome (English-language articles, co-authorship of texts with researchers with affiliation outside Poland),
• membership in editorial boards of scientific journals would be an additional advantage ,
• interest in the subject of research conducted at the Department of Economic Psychology is welcome,
• work in research projects/grants financed from domestic and/or foreign funds,
• history of acquiring and conducting research projects (as the Principal Investigatior) financed from domestic and/or foreign funds is welcome,
• teaching experience with students is welcome,
• readiness to conduct courses belonging to the canon of intruductory academic psychology courses, eg.:

• Introduction to psychology,
• Psychology of cognitive processes,
• Psychology of emotions and motivation,
• Social Psychology,
• Personality and individual differences psychology.

• flexibility in the subject of conducted courses is welcome,
• coaching experience is welcome,
• business experience is welcome (eg work in a market research company, financial institution or in other industries related to the so-called applied psychology),
• experience in the popularization and commercialization of research results is welcome,
• internships at foreign universities are welcome,
• foreign scholarships are welcome,
• high level of digital competence enabling the operation of IT systems,
• knowledge of tools supporting research work is welcome (SPSS/Jamovi/JASP, R/Python environment, PsychoPy/Inquisit),
• interpersonal skills – including communication, coperation, conflict resolution, adaptation, teamwork,
• ability to think creatively and take initiative, resistance to stress is welcome,
• profiles on major social media (Google Scholar & Researchgate, LinkedIn)
• availability to conduct classes on selected days of the week and on selected weekends – in accordance with the schedule set by the didactics department,
• readiness to indicate KU as the first place of work (in case of full-time).

• full-time or part – time job (0,5) employment for the position,
