MED267824Applications are invited for an Assistant Professor in Ecology within the School of Life Sciences, University of Nottingham.This teaching and curriculum leadership role will provide a consistently excellent standard of teaching and support for student learning, underpinned by scholarship related to the discipline. You will undertake teaching responsibilities at all undergraduate year levels in support of BSc and MSci programmes in Biology and Zoology. You will be experienced in a broad range of ecology teaching and have the potential to contribute to teaching in conservation, experimental design and statistical analysis, science communication and academic skills. You will also lead on developing the current curriculum and innovative approaches to learning and assessment. You will act as a personal tutor and devise and supervise final year projects.You will be required to teach and potentially lead residential field courses of between 1 to 2 weeks that run annually. International travel will be required as part of this role.You will provide a consistently excellent standard of teaching in our programmes and develop initiatives to support student learning gains; underpinned by scholarship. You will contribute to curriculum development, quality assurance and enhancement, student recruitment, undertake continuing professional development; and work in partnership with staff and students to maintain the highest standards in all areas of their work.You will have a PhD or equivalent degree in a relevant subject (e.g. ecology, conservation biology, entomology or other zoological field), a successful track record in teaching and experience in leadership in an area related to education and the student experience.
