The Dalhousie University Department of Russian Studies seeks applications for a 12-month 100% appointment July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2025) at the Assistant Professor level in Russian language, literature, and culture. The position is subject to budgetary approval. The professor will teach advanced Russian language classes, as well as upper-level Russian literature courses and Eastern European film courses. The workload is equivalent to three full-credit (six half-credit) classes per year.

Applicants should preferably have a Ph.D. in Russian or comparative linguistics/language pedagogy/literature and culture. Native or native-equivalent command of Russian and English, as well as experience in teaching the Russian language and Slavic topics at the undergraduate level, are required. The successful candidate will possess strong organizational and administrative skills.
