Opportunities have arisen to join our dynamic Social Work team within the Centre for Lifelong Learning. We are seeking to recruit a permanent 1.0 FTE Assistant Professor in Social Work.We have a long-established history of delivering quality research-inspired social work education and continually strive to embrace pedagogical innovation and practice currency in our programmes. We are seeking a creative, enthusiastic, and committed individual who holds a professional qualification in social work, and eligibility for registration with Social Work England.About YouThe Social Work profession is continually changing and as such we require an exceptional person who can contribute to the Social Work portfolio and maintain our high standards of professional Social Work Education. We are seeking a candidate who has experience of professional Social Work practice, knowledge of current developments in both the provision of Social Work services and Social Work education, and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people. The successful candidate will make a significant contribution, in the first instance, to our Degree Apprenticeship in Social Work. We particularly welcome applicants with relevant practice experience and the ability to teach Adult or Children’s Social Work. You will have excellent organisational and communication skills and will be required to contribute to course management and academic administrative duties.You will have a demonstrable commitment to developing excellence in teaching and scholarship. You will be expected to promote and represent the University and the discipline regionally and nationally. We are looking for a committed team player to join our friendly team with evidence of developing academic ability.
