As the candidate will be teaching in a clinical graduate social work program, knowledge of and experience in clinical social work is expected. We particularly welcome applicants with knowledge of and/or expertise in clinical practice with Indigenous peoples and/or racialized individuals, couples, or families. An MSW is required with a PhD completed or in progress. The candidate should also be committed to developing meaningful partnerships and engagement within the Okanagan community including members of the Syilx Okanagan nation. Finally, the successful candidate will be expected to provide evidence of excellence in teaching and to provide service to the University and the broader academic and professional community.In particular we are seeking individuals with:

• An established track record of post-secondary teaching, research and service.
• Established research partnerships.
• Knowledge of and experience in clinical social work practice.
• A proven record of research funding.

The Advanced One-Year track services approximately 20-25 students per year, and the Foundational Two-Year track admits approximately 60 students per year. The MSW program incorporates critical theory into social work assessment and intervention. Students develop a deeper understanding of the integration of individual, relational, structural, and global factors that promote resilience and strengthen capacity. We believe that to be effective clinical social work practitioners, students must understand the dynamic interactions between the biological, psychological, and social domains.
