Astute’s Renewables team is partnering with a leader in renewable energy, renowned for its commitment to sustainability and innovation. With over 25 years of experience, our partner develops and builds wind and solar farms, as well as battery and hydrogen projects worldwide. Their specialist teams handle every aspect of project development and implementation-from site assessment, planning and engineering through to operational management and maintenance of assets.We are recruiting for an Assistant Project Manager (Project Development) to join their dynamic team.If you’re an Assistant Project Manager with pre-planning & consents experience ideally within the renewables sector, then apply today.Responsibilities and dutiesReporting to the Lead Project Manager, you will:
- Support wind, solar, and hybrid energy projects from initial site search and feasibility assessments through to construction, including other technologies as required.
- Assist with site survey activities in collaboration with the Development Project Team, including peat probing, wind masts, noise measurements, site photography, property surveys, and haulage route surveys.
- Prepare and review project drawings using AutoCAD and GIS software.
- Aid in the preparation of planning applications, Environmental Statements, and other project documentation, while ensuring alignment with project timelines and deliverables.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager and wider project team to ensure effective communication, engagement, and problem-solving throughout the project lifecycle.
- Attend conferences and seminars to represent the company and contribute to generating innovative solutions to project challenges
Professional qualificationsWe are looking for someone with the following:
- Academic degree in planning, environmental, or engineering disciplines.
- Knowledge of planning policy and environmental impact regulations.
- Experience with site assessment, planning application/consent processes.
- Working towards or holding a professional qualification (MRTPI, MRICS, MIEMA, MICE) is advantageous.
Personal skillsWe are looking for someone with the following:
- An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
- Highly organised, efficient, and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently on specific tasks.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Capable of working effectively within a team and managing external stakeholders.
- Able to travel frequently throughout Scotland with a full driving license and access to a vehicle.
Salary and benefits of the Assistant Project Manager role
- Up to £55,000 depending on experience.
