The University of Liverpool is a Russell Group University with a wide variety of academic and non-academic activities. An opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified and experienced safety professional to join the University¿s Health and Safety team. The primary role of the new assistant adviser is to help provide additional support in some key areas and to increase the team¿s presence and visibility on campus. The successful candidate will therefore be expected to have experience in the following areas:
- Working with and managing/advising on a broad range of workplace risks including biological and chemical risks.
- Overseeing and undertaking a range of on-site inspections and safety tours
- Health and safety auditing
- Accident investigations
- Developing and delivering training courses
- Leading small projects and working groups
You should have:
- Honours degree or equivalent in a science, technology, engineering, medical (STEM) or relevant subject
- Nebosh Diploma in health and safety (or working towards completion of the diploma by the end of 2023)
- Experience working in a large, multi-disciplined organisation
- Excellent communication skills at all levels
Flexibility in approach and the ability to work with minimal supervision is essential. This is a challenging role, where the right person can make a real difference.
