In this teaching -oriented position, candidates will create and maintain a positive and engaging learning environment while teaching classes with a particular focus on physical chemistry. Preference will be given to candidates with a documented track record of a successful, reflective teaching practice at the post-secondary level.About the Department of Physical Sciences – ChemistryOur department is a collection of passionate chemistry educators interested in inspiring the next generation of chemists. Thompson Rivers University is located in Kamloops, British Columbia. With a relatively mild winter and spectacularly warm and dry summers, Kamloops offers a high quality of life. A city with less than 100,000 residents, it is served by an airport, a hospital, a university, a WHL hockey team and yet still maintains a small-town feel where one never commutes longer than 10 minutes. It is a safe community to raise a family and maintains reasonable housing prices.QUALIFICATIONSWe seek applicants with a strong track-record of excellence in scholarly teaching in the field of Physical Chemistry. Applicants who are close to completion of their Ph. D. are welcome to apply and will be considered. The position entails creating and maintaining a positive, engaging learning environment and inspiring students in their chemistry studies. Accordingly, applicants must demonstrate success and innovation in teaching.
