2024 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Writing Foundations program at the
University of Wisconsin-Green Bay seeks applicants for an Assistant
Teaching Professor position in Writing Foundations, which is comprised
of first-year writing, rhetoric/argumentation, and creative nonfiction.
Preference will be given to applicants who have specialty or
sub-specialty in New Media Studies, Film, Journalism, Professional
Writing, or Graphic Narrative Studies. This position will contribute to
an academic program that strikes a balance between teacher autonomy and
programmatic support. Our program is progressive, flexible, and
collegial. Primary teaching load will be taught in-person on Green Bay
campus, but the successful candidate must be available to teach on our
Sheboygan/Manitowoc campuses as needed and must have experience with all
virtual modalities. Experience integrating generative AI in the
classroom is preferred. This position will be responsible for enhancing
UW-Green Bay’s mission-driven inclusive teaching efforts and creating
and maintaining an educational environment that acknowledges,
encourages, and celebrates those with diverse identities, beliefs, and
cultural backgrounds This position includes the following
responsibilities: – Teach 27 credits per academic year in lower- and
upper-level courses (both online and in person) in Writing Foundations
primarily, with the possibility of offering courses in our Humanities,
Applied Writing and English, Business, and Communication units. –
Implement inclusive instructional strategies to increase support for
students from underrepresented and first-generation backgrounds at
UW-Green Bay. SPECIAL NOTES: The home campus of this position is Green
Bay, and the successful candidate may be required to teach courses at
the Sheboygan or Manitowoc Campus. Position is a full-time, 9-month,
non-tenure track, Instructional Academic Staff appointment. Official
transcripts of the highest degree achieved will be required of
finalist(s). A criminal conviction investigation will be conducted on
