We’re thrilled to welcome those who want to learn more about us and to be part of what we do.Your opportunity:Chemical and Physical Sciences (CPS) at U of T Mississauga is an interdisciplinary science department merging four previously separate departments: Astronomy, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, and Physics. We offer programs in all four areas, including specializations in Chemistry, Biological Chemistry, Biomedical Physics, Astronomical Science, Earth Sciences, and Environmental Geoscience. Our students have access to new, state-of-the-art research and teaching laboratories and are involved in cutting-edge research projects in our research labs. Student enrolments in CPS courses and programs have grown tremendously, mirroring the doubling in size of the student body at the Mississauga campus over the last decade. Our department is home to 25 full-time faculty, including award-winning educators and researchers, who supervise a total of 80 graduate students and 10 postdocs in the CPS research labs.Reporting to the Chair and the department Manager, the Assistant to the Chair/Department Coordinator will be responsible for daily activities and smooth operations of the Chair’s office in a complex and demanding environment. The incumbent also plays a critical role in organizing departmental activities and events.
