Job Description:Associate 1 HazCom Specialist (SDS)Intertek is searching for a Hazard Communication Specialist with SDS Authoring experience to join our Hazard Communication team in our Mississauga office. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in Chemical Regulations!The HazCom Specialist is responsible for the following:What you’ll do:

• Author, update, and manage SDSs in accordance with applicable global regulatory standards (e.g., GHS, OSHA HCS, REACH).
• Gather and review raw material and product information to support hazard classification and SDS preparation.
• Perform basic hazard analyses under the guidance of senior team members.
• Maintain organized records of SDSs, classification data, and regulatory updates.
• Conduct quality checks on hazard communication documents for accuracy and consistency.
• Respond to internal and customer inquiries related to SDS and labeling.
• Participate in training to develop expertise in SDS authoring tools and hazard communication standards.
• Stay updated on relevant regulatory requirements through ongoing learning.

What it takes to be successful in this role:

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, environmental science, toxicology, or a related field preferred.
• SDS Authoring Experience, preferred.
• Basic understanding of global regulatory frameworks such as GHS, OSHA HCS, WHMIS, REACH, or other relevant standards.
• Ability to clearly and accurately document hazard classifications, SDSs, and related materials.
• Exposure to SDS authoring software (e.g., LISAM, SAP EHS, 3E Generate, WERCS, or similar) is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with team members and respond to inquiries.
• Experience working in a team environment and willingness to take direction from senior colleagues
