Information Technology Services is always striving to enhance the IT experience for students, staff, and visitorsJob DetailsPosition Title: Associate Director & Architect ITS SecurityStatus: Full-Time AdminHours: 37.5hrs / weekSalary Range : $117,874 – $146,450Faculty/Department: Information Technology ServicesCampus/Location: North campus Flexible (On Campus and Remote) as required. Occasional visits to other campuses may be required including Lakeshore, IGS.What you will do:The associate director will collaborate on the development of annual and long range security and compliance goals, security strategies, metrics, reporting mechanisms and program servicesThe associate director is a collaborative leader of people who provides mentoring and coaching to their team of security professionals to ensure they perform optimally and are able to achieve their professional goals; a collaborating partner who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and lead by example.You will partner with business leaders to facilitate cyber risk assessment and management and will act as an advocate for strong information security practicesYou will be a senior advisor and lead security architect on the implementation of news tools across the collegeYou will lead and provide oversight for security operations activities including real time analysis of immediate threats, security operations and challenges in current and future state of business operationsThe role may be required to act on behalf of the IT Security Director in their absence.QualificationsWhat you bring to the role:Education

  • The successful candidate will hold a degree in either Business Management, Computer Science, or Information Management Science or equivalent experience.
  • Cyber Security operations training with industry-level certification in related field (e.g. security operations, network security, threat detection and mitigation, security appliance operations)

Experience

  • The incumbent will have a minimum of five to seven years of progressive industry experience, and a minimum of three years leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of common information security management frameworks, such as SOC2, ISO/IEC 27001, CIS and NIST.
  • We are looking for a leader with broad and deep technical experience.
  • You thrive in changing environments and use your experience to bring new and creative approaches and solutions to the table.
  • Your experience includes: Budgeting, project management, information systems, software development/engineering, staff management, business process analysis, strategic planning, scheduling, systems engineering, IT architecture and/or information security.
  • Experience in postsecondary education is a benefit.

Skills

  • Ability to take a high level view of an organizations need and craft solutions to meet them. You have an understanding of both hardware and software that helps you to find areas that are susceptible to security breaches. Your research and programming skills are top notch .
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a high level of personal integrity , innovative thinking and leadership with an ability to lead and motivate cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams
  • Infinitely curious about technology and competent with its use, design, programming monitoring, and control
  • Resilient and adaptable
