The opportunity

  • Based in Australia (in office, hybrid or remote)

Key responsibilities

  • Apply technical expertise in economic development to deliver high-quality, on-time solutions for clients in both domestic and international settings.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, partners, and internal teams to identify opportunities, develop competitive proposals, and drive business development.
  • Monitor industry trends, client needs, and market movements to inform proposals and optimise revenue opportunities.
  • Manage proposal processes, including staffing, budgeting, and coordinating internal and external contributors to ensure quality and competitiveness.
  • Lead and mentor teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, high performance, and professional development.
  • Achieve revenue targets, manage bid pricing for profitability, and contribute to strategic priorities that align with business goals.

Selection criteria

  • A degree in Business Management, Economics, Trade and Development, Social Sciences, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of business development experience, ideally in the international development sector.
  • Demonstrated expertise in South-East Asia with a focus on economic governance, trade, inclusion, digital, or climate finance.
  • Proven leadership and team-building skills; ability to manage teams to deliver objectives on time.
  • Experience balancing contract management, technical needs, and client requirements across diverse teams.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with knowledge of quantitative/qualitative analysis.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; professional, approachable, and service-oriented with a solution-focused mindset.
  • Flexible, adaptable team player committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
