We are driving for a better tomorrow.About the Advancement teamThe role of the Advancement team is to work with the academic community to engage alumni, friends, companies and trusts in the support of the University. We are responsible for sustaining a lifelong relationship with our worldwide alumni community of over 142,000 graduates and raising funds to support students and the University’s research and teaching activities.In early 2022, we publicly launched ‘The Future Says Surrey’, an ambitious international fundraising campaign to raise £60 million in three years. Our community has responded to our call to action, and we’ve made significant progress towards our goals. An opportunity has now opened to join us as our new Associate Director, Principal Giving, and help us to successfully complete this campaign and collaborate on shaping the roadmap for what’s next.About the roleAs the Associate Director, Principal Giving, you will report to the Director of Advancement and work closely with key senior stakeholders, including our Vice-Chancellor, in engaging philanthropic support of £500,000 and above.We are looking for someone to bring their experience of designing and delivering special gift opportunities through sophisticated relationship building and management, and unlocking the potential for more of these at Surrey. We have highly engaged academic champions who bring great ideas and opportunities to us, and a leadership that is ambitious to achieve more – this will require someone experienced in philanthropy, with the ability to navigate ambiguity with resilience, a positive attitude and a solutions-focussed approach.
