We seek to appoint an Associate lecturer to take a role in the development of the academic curriculum .The successful applicant should have teaching experience and a demonstrable record of working in a team. For this role, architectural practice experience will be particularly valued and there is potential for a practicing architect to continue in practice on a fractional role.We recognise the many benefits of a diverse workforce and are committed to ensuring an inclusive place to work. We offer family friendly, flexible working arrangements (e.g. part-time working, job share etc.), with forums and inclusive facilities to support our staff. .The role is available from 1 August 2025RoleIn this role, you will work with the Founding Professor and Head of School and the Course Director to develop the initial teaching curriculum. We will be acknowledging the accreditation requirements of the Architects Registration Board and the Royal Institute of British Architects. We will launch the new BA (hons) Architecture course in September 2025 and the role holder will contribute to the delivery of excellent teaching within the school. You will be joining an exciting new school with a clear intention to deliver a curriculum that is informed by sustainable and culturally aware architecture to a new generation of architects, that responds to the rich cultural context of the city of York and the University.This role will be particularly focussed on professional practice and developing students awareness of the role of the architect, regulatory requirements, practice management, stages of work and project development and delivery.Skills, Experience & Qualification needed
