The School of Humanities at the University of Worcester is home to the BA (Hons) Media & Film Studies course. Students can study a Single Hons award, or a range of flexible combinations with other subjects, such as English Literature, Film Production, Sociology and Journalism. This programme is informed by current research activity, particularly gender, sexuality and queer approaches, screen studies, social media and media futures. Students study a dynamic curriculum linked directly to diverse cultural environments, contexts and media practices. They are also supported to undertake independent research and work-based learning projects to benefit their career plans.

The school seeks to appoint new Associate Lecturers in Media & Film Studies in order to complement the permanent team, with specialist expertise in any, but not limited to the following: 

• Media and Film theories and research methodologies;
• Screen representations of race, class, age and disability;
• Digital cultures and internet studies.

The role also includes the possibility of contributing to postgraduate teaching.

The new Associate Lecturers will work within a team to deliver high-quality teaching and assessment and will support students’ acquisition of transferable and employability skills at Degree level. You will be expected to teach a range of critical approaches from the associated fields of Media & Film Studies, whilst also being able to apply knowledge to appropriate case studies.
