The professorial rank will be determined according to the candidate’s qualifications and experience. This will be a Contract Academic Staff position and does not confer eligibility for tenure.The incumbent will be the Director of the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC). Within the MUHC, the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism spans the Glen site (Royal Victoria Hospital), the Montreal General Hospital, and Hôpital Lachine. The MUHC is one of McGill’s major teaching hospitals affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Canada’s internationally renowned McGill University, located in the vibrant and multicultural city of Montreal, in the province of Quebec.The Department of Medicine is a leader in academic medicine, and our educational and research missions support excellent and innovative clinical programs across our teaching hospitals. The Division has a rich history of research excellence and international profile in many areas including diabetes, calcium/bone metabolism and thyroid disorders. Current research areas include metabolic disorders and the brain, energy metabolism and bone/muscle metabolism.The Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism is one of fifteen divisions within the Department of Medicine. A demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion is also expected.Qualifications and Education RequirementsCandidates must:Hold an MD degree and must have completed subspecialty training in Endocrinology and Metabolism;Be certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (or equivalent) and be eligible for licensure in Quebec and certification by the Collège des médecins du Québec;Have strong leadership experience;Demonstrate internationally-recognized academic accomplishment in Endocrinology and Metabolism research and teaching;Have clinical expertise suited to tertiary hospital settings;Have experience in training students, residents, and fellows in clinical settings;Be fluent in English with a working knowledge of French.
