Are you passionate about delivering an exceptional student experience in a research-intensive Russell Group University?Based in the School of Medicine, we are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified individual with experience and a track record of excellence in research and scholarship of pedagogical practice.The appointee will provide strategic vision, operational delivery and academic leadership, with the primary purpose of the role to provide leadership to the development, implementation and delivery of the Institute’s Research objectives and to oversee the development and quality of the Institute’s research and scholarship portfolio.The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Institute and with the Faculty Pro-Dean and Deputy Dean for Research and Innovation and Director of the Faculty Graduate School to develop and implement the Institute research strategy and to develop Impact within the Institute. They will lead research and collaborative partnerships in pedagogical research, understanding national and international drivers impacting the Institute in relation to research and innovation. The Lead for Research will be expected to work with the Faculty Head of Research Support whose team provides support for research governance, R&D and ethical approval, and preparations for REF activity. The Institute Business Manager and the Faculty Research team works closely with the Lead and alongside research support staff in the Institutes to ensure consistent underlying principles, systems and processes, and to improve support for grant management at both pre- and post award.The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Institute and Institute Lead for Student Education, and as a member of the Senior Management Team to deliver the Institute strategy.Whilst it is desirable to have a Health Care Professional or clinical background, this is not essential.
