Job description
As a result of continued investment in our new Sustainable Engineering and Technology provision, we are looking to appoint a number of senior permanent academic staff across a broad range of Built Environment disciplines.We are looking for a skilled and experienced Associate Professor from any of the following Built Environment disciplines: Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architectural Technology, Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying and Architectural EngineeringARE YOU:
- An academic with a bold vison to deliver inspirational leadership across a broad range of built environment disciplines?
- Passionate about teaching and learning and the continued success and development of our expanding portfolio?
- Enthusiastic about student-centred pedagogy and project-based learning?
- An academic with significant experience in the leadership of innovative curriculum design and development, pedagogy and high quality teaching and learning practice?
- An expert in any number of relevant Built Environment discipline subject areas, for example: procurement tendering and estimating, contract law, project management, soil mechanics, fluid mechanics, design studio, construction economics, architectural history and theory, among others?
- An academic with a substantial record of impactful research of world-class or internationally excellent quality OR a substantial record of professional practice / knowledge exchange activities?
- Enthusiastic about increasing and diversifying income generation through various means
- A member of a relevant professional body?
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
- Take a leading role in the development of innovative interdisciplinary programmes, providing a real-life educational experience for students, and producing graduates who are industry-ready
- Take a lead in managing professional validation, accreditation, and prescription of our programmes
- Play a significant role in the management and delivery of innovative teaching and learning for our students
- Take a leading role in education delivery, including programme / discipline area leadership
- Take a leading role in Research and Knowledge Exchange, meeting KPI for excellence in high impact research
- Manage industry / public sector / third sector and professional networks
- Be part of a collegiate community of academics and professional practitioners
