The Department of Culture, Communication and Media (CCM) is a department of IOE, UCL’s Faculty of Education and Society. It is committed to excellence in teaching, research and consultancy in the areas of: Media and Cultural Studies, Art, Design and Museology; Academic writing; English education: Applied Linguistics; Music Education; Multimodality studies; Learning with Digital Technologies.We are looking to appoint a Lecturer in Communication to lead the new BA Communications and advance communication studies at the IOE and beyond, joining a team of researchers and lecturers whose expertise spans a range of areas in language, discourse, media and communication. They will hold the role of Programme Leader for a term of four years in the first instance. The post holder will also develop a distinct research portfolio, including doctoral research, and engage in enterprise and engagement.You will have a PhD in a relevant field and experience of teaching communications in higher education, preferably at undergraduate level. Sustained success in securing research funding is desirable.
