Applications are invited for a University Associate Professor in Integrative Molecular Biophysics. The post holder will have an established academic track record in the area of molecular or cellular biophysics.This is a joint appointment between the Departments of Biochemistry and Pharmacology.All new faculty are assigned a mentoring committee that advises them on all aspects of setting up a successful research group. They also receive grant writing and submission support, and can recruit from a diverse pool of PhD students from various programs across the University. The appointment provides access to state of the art animal facilities and core facilities for imaging, proteomics, and genomics. Both departments are part of the School of the Biological Sciences and we are closely associated with the Gurdon Institute, Cambridge Stem Cell Institute, MRC Toxicology Unit and provide many opportunities for interactions with the broader Cambridge community.Key responsibilities are to sustain, develop and direct our biophysics instrument platform; conducting world-leading research; teaching undergraduates; advising postgraduate students and post-docs; and other duties associated with academic life. There is the opportunity to become a Fellow of a College.Applicants will have a PhD in a relevant subject area and show evidence of leading a successful research programme. Demonstrable, strong commitment to teaching and advising is highly desired.
