Our strategic aim is to make an enduring impact on health, care and society in Scotland and beyond and we do that through the provision of high-quality programmes of education as well as research / knowledge exchange.We have an established educational portfolio at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels which includes transnational education provision and offer a range of postgraduate programmes, including our highly innovative, pre-registration programmes for Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, and Social Work. Additionally, we are the only university in Scotland that provides undergraduate and postgraduate education for nursing (all fields of practice) and midwifery.The Role:As Associate Professor in Physiotherapy, you will have the opportunity to use your experience and passion for the development of the profession, to support learning and teaching by contributing to and building the allied health professional (AHP) / physiotherapy capacity and capability within the subject group, as well as your own personal portfolio of research.You will be in an excellent position to use your knowledge and experience of effective teaching and mentorship, to translate relevant clinical practice (including research) into a comprehensive and engaging curriculum that will prepare and inspire the next generation of physiotherapists.We anticipate that best practice will be of the highest priority to you, so you will also have remit to build and compliment knowledge exchange e.g: development of continuous professional development courses, as well as support the development of strategic partnerships that will help build the profile of physiotherapy, including the wider AHP community, building interdisciplinary partnerships in research, teaching and practice.You will be joining a team of motivated, approachable, and professional individuals, committed to their discipline, who have a good sense of camaraderie and expectations about supporting each other using a partnership approach, with the focus of building each other, and the organisational objective of building careers.Furthermore, if you have ongoing clinical experience, you will have the opportunity to use your up-to-date knowledge and skills to keep our courses current, relevant and at the pinnacle of practice excellence.What we will need from you:
- Doctoral level qualification
- Qualification in physiotherapy at least to MSc level
- HCPC registered or eligible to apply (CSP member desirable but not essential)
- Profile that demonstrates at least national standing and some international engagement
- A passion for teaching, learning and personal/professional development
