Start date 1 October 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter.The Faculty of Theology and Religion, in association with Keble College, seeks to appoint an Associate Professor in Reformation and Early Modern Christianities. This is a permanent appointment (subject to successful review during the initial period of office).The successful candidate will have:A completed doctorate in any field relating to the history and theology of the Reformation and Early Modern periodPublished research of international excellence in any aspect of Reformation and Early Modern ChristianitiesWell-developed plans for significant research projects envisaged for the five-year period following appointmentDemonstrated ability in teaching and supervision of researchExperience of and commitment to raising research fundingEvidence of the ability and commitment to participate effectively in the wider academic activities of both the College and the Faculty.The main duties of the post are to conduct research of international standing, to teach and examine a range of topics in the subject via lectures, classes and to admit and teach undergraduates at Keble College, evaluating weekly essays and reporting on their progress, to supervise graduate research students, to contribute to admitting, teaching and examining taught postgraduate programmes, and to perform administrative and mentorship functions associated with teaching and research.If you would like to discuss this post and find out more about joining the academic community at Oxford, please contact Professor Mark Edwards, Faculty Board Chair, at .
