We are seeking to appoint an Associate Professor of Experimental Pathology to be based in Oxford University’s Sir William Dunn School of Pathology. The role of Associate Professor is an exciting opportunity to pursue an independent programme of research in a thriving scientific community, while also contributing to undergraduate and graduate teaching at both departmental and collegiate level.The Dunn School has an outstanding track record in biomedical research, with a particular focus on the fundamental cell and molecular biology underlying a broad range of disease mechanisms. It provides a stimulating and supportive community environment with access to excellent scientific facilities and support services, both within the department and across the wider Oxford community.The department is in an exciting period of growth and renewal, so this tenure-track position is an opportunity to help shape and develop its historic strengths in the underlying biology of the causes and treatment of human disease, and to integrate them further with Oxford’s thriving biomedical community.You will have a higher degree and a track record of internationally competitive research and publications. We are especially keen to make an appointment in the research areas of immunology, inflammation or infection, all defined broadly. You will have a demonstrable commitment to, and ideally relevant experience in, training and mentoring of graduate students, and undergraduate teaching. You will also value collegiality and a supportive and diverse working environment.The Dunn School can offer high quality laboratory space and funding to cover the post-holder’s salary. It may also be possible to negotiate additional initial support.The postholder will be elected to a Tutorial Fellowship at Brasenose College and significant additional benefits are offered by the College, set out in the Job Description.The University of Oxford is a member of the Athena SWAN Charter to promote women in Science, Engineering, Technology and Medicine.
