Our team members have what they need to make a meaningful impact and are truly valued for who they are and what they contribute.To learn more about CIBC, please visitWhat you’ll be doingThe Audit Manager, Capital Markets is responsible for conducting risk-focused audits; advising business units on the design, implementation, and maintenance of internal controls while promoting compliance with CIBC policies and procedures, accounting standards, control policies, and applicable legislation. The role applies advanced concepts to provide expertise in the development and completion of monthly audit reports, quarterly audit reports, and ongoing legal entity reports to key stakeholders. The Audit Manager, Capital Markets works with business units to assess the adequacy of controls and develop realistic solutions to control-identified weaknesses using best practices. Acting as a resource integrator for their area, the role independently resolves complex matters, advising the business of best practices to help mitigate short or medium term risks and exposures. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to participate and provide leadership in large and highly complex audits in Capital Markets and effectiveness of operational and management controls in accordance with the CIBC Audit and industry best practices and develop and maintain strong relationships with business partners.At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 2 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.How you’ll succeedManage planning & execution of audit assignments- Identify and fully understand the key business processes, their inherent risk, and the control environment. Plan and/or participate in risk-based audit activities, assess relevant processes and controls, and provide an independent opinion on their design and operating effectiveness.Audit reporting – Identify business control weaknesses, and objectively assess the severity and materiality of the issues and their potential impact on the business. Work with business management to develop action plans based on realistic and workable solutions, to mitigate the risk and exposure in the long term.Continuous improvement – Provide effective and timely communication on risk issues with influence and judgment to create positive outcomes. Look for ways to enhance audit guidelines and practice development and to improve efficiency and audit experience.Who you areYou can demonstrate experience in and have in-depth understanding of the capital markets business, products, risks, processes and related controls within areas of responsibility, with minimum of 3 years proven and progressive experience in audit, accounting and/or other equivalent experience; Professional designation/certification such as CPA , CFA, CIA or equivalent would be an asset.You embrace and champion change.
