Action Against Hunger saves lives while building long-term strategies for self-sufficiency.
Action Against Hunger is well known for its expertise in Nutrition and Health. It started working in Afghanistan in 1995. Its very first mission has seen a strong focus on emergency responses, targeting primarily refugees, Internally Displaced Persons, and flood/drought-affected populations. Integrated projects in Nutrition and Health, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Food Security and Livelihoods, and Mental Health and Care Practices are implemented.
In 2023, two-thirds of Afghanistan’s population will need urgent humanitarian assistance to survive as the country enters its third consecutive year of drought-like conditions and the second year of crippling economic decline while still reeling from the effects of 40 years of conflict and recurrent natural disasters. The mission employs 697 staff in five operational bases: Kabul, Helmand, Ghor, Daikundi, and Badakhshan. ACF teams address the underlying conditions leading to deadly malnutrition and food insecurity and provide access to basic health services.
The Kabul base hosts the coordination office in charge of implementing water, sanitation, and hygiene and nutrition projects aiming to reduce acute malnutrition in the Kabul Informal Settlements and in 26 health facilities.
Under the supervision of the Country Director, you will ensure an independent and continuous assessment of the adequacy, effectiveness, and efficiency of the internal control systems and risk management strategy of Action Contre La Faim (ACF) Afghanistan.
More precisely, you will be responsible for the following missions:
You hold a Master’s degree related to Accounts, Audit, Finance, or Business Administration. You have at least 5 years of experience in a similar position. Previous experience with ACF is an asset.
You have experience in Internal Audit, Compliance, Safeguarding Inquiries, Fraud Investigations, and/or Fraud Management. An experience in Finance Management and Risk Management is an advantage.
You have proven ability to multitask and have demonstrated skills in organizing, training, and motivating a multicultural team.
You are disciplined and able to work and make decisions autonomously with minimal guidance.
You have advanced knowledge of donors’ guidelines and procedures (ECHO, UN, FCDO, BHA, CDCS, GFFO, BMZ, etc.).
You possess excellent diplomatic and negotiation skills.
You are fluent in English (professional proficiency required) and have excellent drafting and written communication skills.
Joining Action Against Hunger means embarking on a meaningful humanitarian journey with a significant impact. By becoming part of our team, you will have the opportunity to contribute directly to the fight against malnutrition and humanitarian crises around the world.
