If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you!A local secondary school based in Romsey is dedicated to fostering a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for all students, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), The school does cater for range of SEN needs but specialises in Autism. They believe in the power of tailored support and individualised attention to help every student reach their full potential.Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN, including those within the Autism Unit.
  • Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs).
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to create a cohesive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Foster independence, confidence, and self-esteem in students with SEN through personalised support and encouragement.
  • Help students engage with the curriculum and participate in classroom activities to the best of their abilities.
  • Support students in developing social skills and building positive relationships with peers.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with SEN, particularly autism spectrum disorder (ASD), is desirable.
  • A compassionate and patient demeanour, with a genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of students with diverse needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special education, SEN support, or related fields are advantageous but not essential.
