The Global Marketing Strategy team delivers high-impact strategy development and projects for senior stakeholders including the Global Marketing Leadership Team, the Executive Leadership Team and the Board.The role covers a broad portfolio of initiatives, collaborating across segment (Canada, United States, Asia, Global Wealth and Asset Management) and functional (operations, technology, finance) teams to deliver strategy development, planning, execution, communications, and reporting to drive successful delivery of the global marketing mandate.Manulife has a bold ambition – to be the most digital, customer-centric global company in our industry. - Co-lead the development, implementation and communication of the coordinated annual strategy development process for the Global Marketing Team, working and aligning with global segment and function strategy teams
- Lead special strategy projects for the Global CMO or sponsored by the Global Marketing Leadership Team that drive business value for the organization
- Provide thought leadership on industry and customers trends, particularly around customer experience, digital transformation, and competitive intelligence
- Influence, champion and align the organization to strategy, using the financial plan, business plans, CMO communications strategy, annual goals’ setting, and project business casing
- As a key people leader of the Marketing Strategy & Transformation Leadership Team, manage a team of 2-3 professionals, providing regular and constructive feedback and mentor, encouraging an innovative environment by supporting creativity and high-performance teamwork, developing strong team engagement and morale and providing mentorship and advice to help the team achieve their full career potential
- Responsible for strategy communications to various key audiences including the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), Manulife Board and employees
- Define critical metrics to achieve Global Marketing’s ambition and partner with the Global Marketing Leadership Team to achieve these metrics; partner with the Global Marketing Portfolio Oversight & Reporting team for reporting and tracking of the execution of the strategy, monitor and report on what is working and not working
What will be expected from me?
- 10+ years progressive experience in management consulting or corporate strategy and large-scale transformations at a premier consulting firm or large multi-national corporation, with a focus on strategy, marketing, digital transformation and customer experience
- Proven track record to strategically influence senior leadership team members individually and collectively and work across complex, multi-functional teams of stakeholders
- Identify when early trade-offs are needed and be able to influence decision makers to make difficult decisions
- Regarded as a realistic and practical individual and respected for an ability to deliver
- Master facilitator and communicator while being observant to pick up cues and able to connect diverse facts to surface issues
- High level of conceptual skills and an ability to operate strategically
- Proven ability to work optimally in diverse environments and cultures
- Demonstrates resilience and brings a winning attitude

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
